I’m not terribly happy with many of the photos I’ve taken recently. I’ve been keeping a photo journal so long that sometimes I forget part of it is for keeping track how my picture-taking progresses. Cloudless skies destroy my desire to make photographs and also just be outside. Almost nothing makes me fussier. Sorry, Nathaniel’s parents who were visiting and had to put up with me at Cider Hill and Powell Gardens last weekend. Just come visit once we’ve moved to Oregon…

Powell Gardens was really different than I’d imagined it. We went to Cider Hill last year, though, and we did follow through on going earlier in the season this year so we got a few different types of apples this time. I was hunting in vain for that black and yellow garden spider again this time at the apple orchard cos it was so cool to see last year, and then we did end up seeing one, at the botanical garden! So pretty.
