We spent the first half of our honeymoon at Cocobay, an all-inclusive resort on the island of Antigua in the West Indies. We filled our days with lounging in the hammock or the plunge pool on our private balcony, drinking lots of wine and champagne; being fed three fresh, well-portioned, beautiful meals a day; snorkeling in the bay; and laying out on the beach. And that was pretty much it! One day, we left the resort to hike to an abandoned tower and got all scratched up scrambling around. We also saw a bunch of goats on the side of a cliff! Other things: we kept seeing mongooses darting along the path by our cottage, we had bananaquits building a nest on our patio and they would fly in and out of our cottage stealing sugar packets, and our first day snorkeling (before we brought out the GoPro) a sharksucker became attached to Nathaniel and came with us from way out all the way back to shore.
It was a really, really relaxing trip. We napped every day in our super comfy bed. I started and finished two books. I missed my friends so much and after having just seen them all, I felt torn away from them and wanted to know how they were doing and what they were up to. I always have a hard time adjusting to being away from my friends again (yes, even on a paradise-like island with my new husband). I am desperately in love with all of them.
Disney World was next…
