Fondue and dead things in the same post, huh, you ask? But yes, that’s how it happened, and I find it’s important to be true to myself and my life. This blog is for documentation, after all. Sometimes you make a nice little cheese and chocolate fondue dinner at home for Valentine’s Day, and sometimes you go for a walk on the frozen Kansas River and find dead birds and fish and deer.

Times have been dark lately. The warmer weather the past few days has truly felt like a bright light and an enormous weight lifted, and, as it always seems, some great happenings have coincided with the negative ones, but times are going to be hard moving ahead. I’m looking forward to a little vacation with my best friend to see and talk about art and visit with another person very special to me; that day in the spring when we rake all the crud out of our yard and grill out for the first time of the year; seeing one of the men of my dreams the night before I drive to Colorado to marry the other; and a wedding, the beach, and Mickey waffles with my favorite person on earth.
