We went to Manhattan for Michael’s wedding! We spent the first night in a hotel, and in the morning we walked from there to Michael’s house. Then Nat and I went to Sunset Zoo, which is at the end of Michael’s street. It’s a little zoo, and it was very quiet that day, and I loved it. We took an Uber to Aggieville and had fish tacos and strawberry summer beer at Taco Lucha, then got scooters and scooted to Michael’s, where we hung out and drank some of Michael’s brews. That evening was the rehearsal dinner and Nat and I took some test shots at the venue and some photos of Michael’s family. On the morning of the wedding, Nat and I walked to Early Edition for breakfast, walked to the library, and walked back to our Airbnb to get ready. We walked to the Discovery Center and explored the museum a bit. And then the wedding happened :)

Sunday morning, we took an Uber to the airport and picked up our rental car. We got a breakfast burrito at Arrow Coffee, stopped by the Insect Zoo to get a photo, then started toward Lawrence. We went right to Free State for cheddar ale soup. We snuck in to the KU Natural History Museum for ten minutes before they closed, then drove to our Airbnb, the Stone Schoolhouse on Clinton Lake, which was amazing. We walked around the property, then to the lake to watch the sunset. We drove to Lawrence and got beers and food to take back to our place and we spent the rest of the night eating and lying around listening to music.

On Monday, we ate at The Roost and shopped at Wonder Fair and went to the library. We drove to Riverfront Park and the Baker Wetlands and then started driving toward Kansas City. We went to Waldo and got pizza for Megan and Kyle, drove to their house, and drove to the airport to drop off the rental car. We spent the night hanging out with them and baby Lyla, who is two months old and perfect.

The last day of the trip was super chill. Megan and Kyle took Lyla to an appointment, so Nat and I walked to diner about 15 minutes away. After walking back we spent most of the day hanging out on the couch, Megan in and out with the baby. Megan and Kyle made us dinner, and Nat and I went for a walk. Megan took us to the airport in the morning. We were originally supposed to go to Disney World and meet up with Nathaniel’s parents next, and even though that addition would have been great, I thought this was a pretty perfect trip. The most normal-feeling thing we had done in over a year.
