Picking up from the last post: We hiked back from the dunes, stopped at a little market for supplies we’d forgotten, and made dinner (mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs) at our campsite. I had noticed this little area full of amazing flowers, so my sister and I drove back to take photos as the sun was setting. The next morning we took out the kayak on the lake! Nat had borrowed it from Reed’s rental center. It was inflatable, and really hard to keep going in one direction. Super fun to be able to do, though. We also set up beside the lake for a little while so Cody could get in the water, so I could scoop up lots of newts :) We drive home through Reedsport, which I think is actually a fascinating little town. I wish I’d gotten to spend more time, but we were eager to get home because my block party was the next day!
