I’d been wanting to plan a trip back to Lincoln for a while, but our trip there on Sunday was kind of spur of the moment. We left super early and drove through pouring rain the whole time to trade in my car. So hooray, I have a Subaru Forester now! A bit of an early birthday present to myself. We were both sad to let go of my Accord, but I’d been mulling it over for a long time, and I really like the wagon so far.

Since bread & cup was closed (such a bummer), we ate gyros and went to Vintage Village and spent some time at the University of Nebraska State Museum at Morrill Hall. As soon as I saw Alaina Hickman‘s photographs from there (and so many people at SPE in Lincoln last fall told me I had to go), I was itching to check it out. The museum is small, but I loved their Hall of Nebraska Wildlife. Most of the diorama “windows” go really close to the ground, so you can kneel down in front of them and feel like you’re inside. It was fun to photograph, and I’m feeling so excited to start devoting time to putting series together after things calm down this summer.

Three weeks from right now, I’ll still be swooning from seeing Morrissey the night before, and my parents, my aunt, Nathaniel, and I will be caravanning to Colorado. Unreal. I need to start packing for our honeymoon…
