We can never get enough of Sauvie Island this time of year, or the pumpkins the entire month of October, so on the second-to-last Sunday of last month we went up to our favorite Columbia Farms to choose a variety of pumpkins. (We had picked our own big one at The Pumpkin Patch with Kyle a couple weeks before, but we were up there on a Monday and Columbia Farms is only open on the weekends.) We walked Cody around the patch because it was so nice out. The light was perfect. Next, we went to St. Helens for something fun and to take in Halloweentown one more time, and then we drove to Astoria because the ultimate goal of the day was to eat cheese curds. Mission deliciously accomplished. We walked around a little during sunset and then hustled to Fort Stevens to see the ocean before it got completely dark. On the way to the beach we saw a ton of elk! And the sun setting for real against the ocean was miraculous, as always.
