We stayed home for Christmas – our first Christmas in our own house – and had a slow, quiet day. We made the animals take a photo with us by the tree, opened gifts, talked with our families. Then we went for a walk at Tryon Creek. Nathaniel got me another Hippopotamus for Christmas (this one is old and animatronic and incredible); I made him a book of the year 2014 (still catching up!). My parents and sister got gifts for all our pets, so it was a wild, squeaky afternoon. In the evening, Nat made us a really delicious dinner à la Kisiel family tradition – “meat” and potatoes, and nothing green on the plate ;)
