I think it was on our coastal drive trip to Oregon in 2014, when I picked up a ton of flyers for places I wanted to visit once we moved to Oregon, that I found out about Cascades Raptor Center in Eugene. I can’t believe so much time passed before I actually made it there. I’d also been wanting to check out the natural history museum on the U of O campus, aaand I had recently found out that there is a Texas Roadhouse in Eugene?! So when we had no plans the first Sunday in January we made a day of it, taking a nice long walk at Mount Pisgah Arboretum and having brunch at Cornbread cafe – vegan comfort food – first.

The raptor center is so cool. It was really neat to get to see all these different birds, and be so close, but I also really loved the look of the place – the gift shop, all the signage, how green it is there. I was seriously ~snapping away~ the entire time we were there. Can’t wait to take my dad next time he visits!
