Gosh, this was a month ago now, so I’ll try to remember it all. Back when Elsie was still living in Portland, she and Sophie (and Nat) and I decided we’d do Thanksgiving together at my house. Since Dan is kind of the reason we all know each other, he was obviously invited, too. He got in to Portland the day before Thanksgiving and I took the Max to pick him up. He had dinner at the phenomenal Loving Hut and then took the train home, then met my wonderful neighbors for drinks at a place in town. It was open mic night! So we had a blast watching that.
On the morning of Thanksgiving, I looked out my bedroom window to see that the rain had brought down a bunch of leaves, creating this sea-of-red-leaves effect in my backyard that I loved around Thanksgiving last year (before the house was ours!). I took a bunch of photos, and then Dan and Nat and I went to La Provence for some pastries and then Rood Bridge to give Cody a walk. Soph and Els met us at home and Nat and Dan started cooking. I pretty much just documented the process of making the dining room look ~amazing~. Dinner was really lovely – we had veggie loaf, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, vegetarian stuffing, cream corn, rolls, and Elsie’s green bean casserole. We’ve been doing Home Chef since the spring, so some of that came from there, and it worked out pretty well! After dinner some of the neighbors came over for a movie – we watched Men in Black 3? I cannot remember why, haha. This was! A successful! Thanksgiving!
