We had had gift cards for Airbnb and Timberline Lodge (both from my sister!), so when Nathaniel’s birthday neared, we used that as a reason to get out of town and spend a couple nights in Hood River. The place was so pretty, really our style and a joy to just hang out in when we weren’t walking around the town of Hood River or up on Mt Hood. It was super snowy on the mountain and Cody had a blast running and rolling in the snow. We had dinner at Timberline Lodge and explored a bit, but really just laid low. On the way home, we went to Antiques & Oddities across the river in Bingen, WA (we didn’t buy anything but we had such a fun time looking at everything) and stopped in Cascade Locks and then at the Bonneville fish hatchery. Nat’s birthday was actually the following Monday, and after I got off work we went for a long walk around the neighborhood. That’s when everything was really starting to bloom! The flowery Northwest makes me so love this time of year.
