We took our last walk in the Redwoods on Walker Road in Jed Smith State Park, which had been recommended to us by a park ranger. Once we got on the road, it wasn’t long until we crossed the state line. We stopped for a minute at Harris Beach State Recreation Area, then visited Jerry’s Rogue River Museum. Next, we went to Prehistoric Gardens! Cody was allowed and he barked at every single fake dinosaur. We actually had a great time (and saw QUAILS). I had brought my trusty Oregon Coast Access Guide with me, which was helpful in getting us to see three more Oregon lighthouses, Cape Blanco Lighthouse (and the Hughes House), Coquille River Lighthouse, and Umpqua River Light Station. We had planned to see Heceta Head again this trip, but the days are so short now that it would have been dark long before so got there, so we headed inland to go straight home. This trip was so good. When I look at the pictures it’s hard not to think of The Passenger / Memory Man, which we were listening to so much of the time while we were in the car ;)
