When we got to Bellingham, we settled into our sweet artist studio Airbnb out in the country, got some lunch in town, and then drove up to Vancouver, BC, just to check it out for a couple hours. Can you tell we didn’t really get out of the car? We drove around Stanley Park and walked around a little, drove through downtown, and then got ice cream for our long wait at the border. Clearly, we need to go back someday and spend more time! Vancouver reminded us of Denver (the parts where you can’t see the water, obv.) and the area around Niagara Falls. It’s really beautiful, and it was unlike any city we’d ever seen before (the buildings all look so light-colored and bright?). The next morning, we walked Cody around our “neighborhood” and then headed out on our whale-watching cruise. We left pretty early the next day, after getting coffee at Black Drop and stopping at Rocket Donuts.

No more trips for a while now, although this weekend my best! friend! ever! will be here, and the day he leaves his sister, who is also one of our best friends, is coming into town! A last hurrah for summer.
