I’ve been meaning to visit the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle for months now, and we finally made it up there the weekend before last. Again, mixed feelings about zoos, but I thought this one was great. It was a warm, sunny day and many of the animals were out and close to the glass, so I had a really productive day photographing (if you ever want to see the pictures I make for art purposes, you can check out my portfolio’s news/sketchbook page–it runs a few months behind). Afterward, we went to Pike Place Market, which we always have fun doing. I still don’t love Seattle, though! (I’m an Oregon over Washington person forever.) It’s a cool city, but it doesn’t have the trees and the coziness/nestled-ness (?) of Portland. We always have a good time visiting, though. We listened to The Black Tapes the whole way there and back. All I listen to these days is podcasts.
