A couple Saturdays ago, even though he had to work in the afternoon, Nat suggested we make a quick trip to the coast to try to find some driftwood for holiday gifts he wanted to make. Since we didn’t have a ton of time (and Indian Beach was closed [!], and it was super windy at Cannon Beach), we just did some poking around on Short Sand (which I like just fine; it just doesn’t feel as “marvelous” as my faves). It was a pretty good time except that my awful, awful dog spent about five minutes rolling in a deer carcass before we could get to him and he smelled so. bad. We covered him in dirt for the ride home, which may or may not have helped, and then spent about 30 minutes scrubbing him in the tub. And he still smells. So that was ?
