I decided sometime around when Dan and Jes first got engaged that for their wedding gift I would recreate a sculpture I made of a glowing city skyline when I was a freshman at MICA. Dan loved it, but it was never meant to survive past my Introduction to Sculpture critique, so it got tossed at the end of the year. With (tons of) Nat’s help, I made it again out of wood… eight years later, almost to the day. I’m so happy with how it turned out.

And Dan and Jes’s wedding was amazing! Their ceremony was so special and meaningful and the night was so much fun. I really loved getting to spend time with old friends I haven’t seen since we lived in Denver. Nat and I got in Friday evening (now two weekends ago) and we spent all our time hanging out with Dan and Jes and their friends and families until we had to leave Monday afternoon. Jes’s best friend, Kayleen, threw her an incredible Disneyland-themed bridal shower and so many people in Jes’s life were there. Nat hung out with the boys and helped set up at various points throughout the weekend. I didn’t really want to be taking pictures all the time/at all during the wedding, so I’m glad Nat took some GoPro footage and put together this video…
