I really liked the Oregon Zoo! There’s a lot to see and it’s do-able in a day without feeling underwhelming. My favorite “exhibits” were the dwarf mongoose, fruit bats, and crocodile. And getting to see carcass feedings, of course :P Maybe I should say I enjoyed photographing there and I had a good experience. I still and will probably always feel super conflicted about zoos. But I find being close to animals (and the particular ways in which we do this) fascinating. I think my posts of zoo pictures are always a little lackluster because what I post here are essentially just animal snapshots. I’m pretty happy with the pictures I made at the Oregon Zoo that are more for the fine art projects I am working on right now.

After the day at the zoo, Johnathan came over and we made dinner and ate and played the Worst-Case Scenario Survival Game on the patio. We learned a lot about earthquakes–invaluable knowledge! I love this patio/yard (but that doesn’t stop me from looking at country homes/farm houses on some acreage whenever I have spare time…).
