Springfield/Branson/Silver Dollar City had been on our list of places to go for such a long time. When we found out we’d be moving a month earlier than planned, we made this trip our one priority, the last we could go on since all remaining weekends would have to be devoted to packing. We couldn’t do Silver Dollar City because of $$$ and a dog with nowhere to stay on a hot day, but we decided to camp at Lake of the Ozarks, see the Ha Ha Tonka castle ruins, do the Fantastic Caverns ride-through tour, check out Springfield, go to Wild Animal Safari (pictures soon), and at least drive through Branson.

It was such a fun weekend. We went on an amazing hike at Ha Ha Tonka State Park (it was so hot), and Cody got to come to the caverns! Dogs are allowed since the cave was “discovered by a dog,” and we were the only ones with a dog so we got the back of a jeep to ourselves. We saw the “longest footbridge for trainspotters” in C-Street in Springfield, looked for white squirrels in Marionville, “home of the white squirrels,” but saw none, and went to a pretty cool 5 & dime in Branson. We’ll go to Silver Dollar City someday :)
