On our last day in Lucas, we received heartbreaking news that called us “home” to Colorado the following weekend for a funeral. It was a reflective drive; I mostly photographed the incredible clouds. We drove through an epic storm.

We were in Denver, at Dan and Jes’s in Globeville, for a little bit, then drove down to the Forest by way of Sedalia/Perry Park/Larkspur/Palmer Lake, a favorite drive. We spent a little bit of time with Nathaniel’s parents and then headed back to Kansas.
