All I knew about the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science is that they have a two-headed snake (we saw it; it was pretty standard), but we took a chance on it and said we could spend exactly one hour there in order to make it to New Orleans on time. I loved it! Mississippi is a beautiful, diverse state and their museum really showed this off. The big glass cases of birds in the middle of the exhibition halls were my favorite part, and of course I didn’t get very good photos of them. I also liked their teeny tiny (live) turtles (and this turtle), and their gift shop, where I got about a hundred postcards and a pretty neat glow-in-the-dark shirt. The museum is definitely worth the $6 if you’re in the area.
