My parents drove out from PA to spend last weekend with me and Nat. It was perfectly foggy Saturday morning so we took them to the farmers market, but it had cleared up and the sun was out in the afternoon when we got to the secret beach. We saw a pod of pelicans on the river as soon as we got there, and Cody promptly chased them away. The American white pelicans migrating through eastern Kansas are so cool. We spent Sunday at the movies seeing St. Vincent (during which my mom and I cried our eyes out) and then took our boat to the fishing lake since it was around 80 degrees out. A good weekend. And now I have my grandpa’s old roll-top desk. And, finally, a dining room table in my dining room and not in my office.
