It recently occurred to me that I do pretty much the same thing every weekend (it also occurred to me that time passes much more quickly when you have a long-term routine). Saturday mornings, I take Cody on a long walk at either the Wetlands or the off-leash dog park. It was the Wetlands this time and the fact that we could actually get back to the Wakarusa without being blocked by overgrown vegetation was definitely bittersweet. Sundays, Boh and I try to pack in as much as we can since it’s our only day together, and this usually involves another long romp outside somewhere. We drove up to Perry Lake to see if there were any changing leaves left on the trees and ended up just walking on the beach. It was such a gorgeous day.

I have also been really into going to the movies lately. Since I was a teenager I have found going to the movies ridiculous (yet I still love adding ticket stubs to my enormous collection) because seriously $8 for a matinee? But Sunday we went to see this movie and we both just absolutely loved it. I haven’t laughed that hard at a movie in a long time. And we both cried, of course. Well-done movies about enduring love always do that to us.
