Although short (18 hours!), our trip to Oklahoma City was pretty eventful. We checked in to our hotel, got Cody settled, and headed straight to the Jimmy Eat World concert. It was my fifth time seeing them over the past 11 years! I’m not at all embarrassed to say they remain my all-time favorite band (next to The Smiths/Morrissey, of course). In the morning, we had an awesome breakfast at Waffle Champion, spent some time driving through Moore to see the damage from the spring’s devastating tornado, and went to the Museum of Osteology.

We had seen a TV special about the museum and I wasn’t sure how much I would care for it considering what I mostly love about museums of nature/science is the taxidermy and this was mostly skeletons. We were both really impressed, though! We learned a lot and saw some really neat specimens I had definitely never seen before. On the drive back, we stopped to marvel at hundreds of starlings at sunset near home. Always one of my favorite sights.
