This year (last year, now!) was the first Christmas Eve/Christmas Day I spent entirely with Nathaniel’s family. We slept on the floor and woke up to this sight on Christmas morning. Nathaniel’s parents live in the most beautiful house in the forest. I love it there.

This is what it looks like (leaving the forest) where we grew up. I love Denver, but the mountains in Colorado Springs are so close! And really nice to look at.

Christmas Day, we went to Ian and Diana’s, the Dares’ house, and my parents’. It was all really wonderful, especially to see old friends’ families I used to see all the time in high school and hadn’t really spent time with in years. We spent New Year’s with a couple of close friends, drunkenly playing Just Dance til 1am. It was pretty perfect. Now we’re home for good, looking for jobs and trying to organize the apartment. Three weeks later, I still have a terrible cold. Hoping to spend this year feeling healthier and living intentionally. Happy 2012 :)

Also, as a New Year’s gift for Nathaniel, I unveiled the blog I’ve been keeping for him for all of 2011, dearnathaniel.tumblr.com
